Soldiers from the newly formed Yorkshire Regiment are due to parade through the Barnsley area in a march that will officially mark the transfer of Freedom of the Borough from the former Duke of
Wellington's Regiment.
The
troops will be marching in full display colours complete with bayonets
they pass through the town centre from 12:15PM on Tuesday October 21st.
It is hoped that many will turn out to support their local troops and that the
parade will give the town's residents the chance to acknowledge and
applaud the dedication and bravery of the UK armed forces. |
