West Bar Development

Gone are the days when West Bar was thought to be a purely industrial and commercial district and now, as Sheffield’s vibrant City Centre expands, West Bar is fast becoming the up and coming area to live in. Planning has been conditionally granted for a development which will help change the face of the West Bar area of Sheffield.  As Sheffield City Centre finally gets the face lift and growth it has been needing for years, West Bar is now the place for business types to live and work.  Only a short walk from the bars and restaurants of Campo Lane the land between New Street and North Church Street will be transformed into a beautifully constructed curved fronted building consisting of 46 contemporary apartments, over 5500 sq office space and a retail unit (Class A1) with accompanying undercroft parking. The development is to be completed in two stages but as of yet no dates have been set as to when work will be completed.

The development is being designed by Coda Studios Architects and Designers, based in Sheffield they are a young practise overseen by two directors; David Cross and Mark Hobbs whom each bring their own expertise in designing and delivering contemporary architecture within a commercial budget.
