Weather Fails To Damped Spirits Claims Belvoir Sheffield

Posted on Wednesday, 05 September 2012 03:16PM by Artful Lodger via Belvoir
As new figures from the RICS UK Housing Market Survey indicate that potential buyers braved  the wet weather during July while the amount of new homes coming onto the market dropped off, Belvoir Sheffield, the leading estate agent in Sheffield , is claiming that this is a positive sign for the market overall.

The report indicated that despite the poor weather seen across most of the country, many would-be buyers were not deterred, even though the number of new properties coming onto the market continued to fall during July, as fewer vendors looked to test the summer market.

Rick Flay, Director at Belvoir Sheffield, who offer a wide range of property to rent in Sheffield, said: "Many buyers have been struggling with mortgage finance, especially those in the buy to let sector.  The fact that more buyers were out in force during July and the fact that the amount of new homes coming onto the market has dropped, is a great sign of the residential landlord.

"These factors mean that void periods are decreasing and demand is high, but as always the market needs an injection of new properties.

Peter Bolton King, RICS Global Residential Director, commented earlier this week: “Despite the terrible weather seen in many parts of the county in July, a steady number of potential buyers still got out there to test the market."

Rick Flay, Director at Belvoir Sheffield, who offer a wide range of property to rent in Sheffield, said: Here at Belvoir Sheffield, we are letting stock out in an average of nine days, which is down to our first rate marketing power.

"We are finding that our average letting time is way in excess of other letting agents in Sheffield, but this is leaving us with a lack of rental properties.  I would advise any would be landlords looking to let out their property for the first time to contact us here at Belvoir Sheffield for free advice. At this time, demand is outstripping supply so it's a great time to buy and let out your property."
