Service personnel to receive financial advice

Posted on Wednesday, 15 October 2008 04:21PM by Editor
South Yorkshire has seen the launch of a unique financial advice service that is aimed squarely at serving and former armed forces personnel who are currently feeling the effects of the credit crunch. The scheme is run by a team made up of the Royal British Legion, The Citizens' Advice and also the RAF Benevolent Fund.

The service will offer advice on a range of welfare and benefits issues including money, debt and housing, and will be run from Sheffield Citizens' Advice Debt Support Unit, on Broadfield Road, Heeley, and is funded by the legion and the RAFBF.

Ernie Bohm, of the RAFBF commented "At a time when serving and ex-service people are faced with ever-increasing pressure from all sides, it is imperative charities work together, pooling our resources and expertise, to provide the best possible services to those who have served their country. We are, therefore, delighted to be collaborating with The Royal British Legion to provide access to Citizens' Advice's expert money management and benefits' advice services for all members of the RAF family."
