The Fire and Police Museum is the largest volunteer run museum of it's kind in the UK. The museum is run ENTIRELY by volunteers and relies on sponsors, donations and money from the door/Gift Shop and Cafe.
The Museum has a dedicated classroom set aside specifically for schools and other interested groups that would like to include the facilities offered by the Fire and Police Museum in their studies..The museum has a variety of dedicated staff that will help to bring the history of the emergency services in the UK alive!
The classroom itself can accommodate up to 30 children plus about 8 adults. There are slide and video facilities together with a range of books, artifacts and study material. One wall of the classroom room is beautifully decorated with a mural over 20ft long and 12ft high depicting fire-fighters through the ages. The Museum is able to provide Fire safety/History lectures suitable for all ages and learning levels.
