Crystal Peaks
Crystal Peaks lies on the outskirts of Sheffield, south east of
Woodhouse along the A57 – a road that can take you through the centre
of Sheffield towards Manchester or out to the M1 for a quick getaway
north or south. Buses and trams run regularly through the area into
Sheffield centre. It’s one of the smaller areas of Sheffield and
although has some very large facilities, it shares with and borrows
from surrounding areas for things like schools and facilities.
The
town centre area is along Eckington Wayand has a large medical complex
(with a dental and medical surgery) and the Crystal Peaks library which
offers a range of services including free internet access in all of the
9 computer rooms. More information on the services can be found here: http://www.sheffield.gov.uk/in-your-area/libraries/find/all-libraries/crystal-peaks-library
Local
schools can be found in Halfway, a short bus ride away - there’s the
Halfway Junior School and Halfway Nursery Infant School. A few local
stores and take away shops can be found along Drakehouse Crescent too,
which is just around the corner.
Crystal Peaks is well known for
the Crystal Peaks Shopping Centre, a large complex situated 7 miles
from Sheffield centre with free parking and its own tram stop. It’s a
smaller alternative to Meadowhall (with less stress) and offers a great
range of stores while being very accessible. Hit www.crystalpeakscentre.com
for a full list of the stores and services. There’s a large Sainsbury’s
at the Crystal Peaks centre, with its own parking. Not far away is the
Rother Valley Golf Centre and offers all the usual facilities apart
from accommodation.
The local pub is the Milestone and is located in the Crystal Peaks Centre for a quick pint after the shopping maybe?
