Crich Tramway Village

Looking for a great day out in Derbyshire? Then look no further than Crich Tramway Village. Nestling high up in the heart of Derbyshire overlooking the famous Derwent Valley and open almost throughout the year, Crich Tramway Village is a lovingly restored period village that is also home to the National Tramway Museum and its world renowned archives.

The Exhibition Hall brings to life the history of the tram and includes a recreation of the 1905 Tramways Exhibition, whilst the Workshop Viewing Gallery allows visitors to see for themselves the ongoing restoration and repair work that is carried out each day.

Our indoor "Discovery Depot" with its ball pit and tram-themed soft play area and outdoor Adventure Playground are the perfect place for children to let off steam or they can tax their brains with our fun and informative Activity Booklet.

Or the less energetic can take a stroll along the Woodland Walk and Sculpture Trail, ideal for a picnic or simply to enjoy the stunning views and fascinating sculptures. Thanks to funding by the Countryside Agency our brand new Woodland Walk & Sculpture Trail allows visitors to stretch their legs on a trail that winds its way through native woodland now dotted with sculptures by local artists. You may just catch a glimpse of the stunning views before stumbling across a viewing platform or the picnic area with its panoramic vista across the Derbyshire countryside.

The Museum's library holds a unique collection of books, pamphlets, reports and Acts of Parliamen
